ADVANCED PLACEMENT CHEMISTRY
RECOMMENDED TEXT:

GRADE 11. ADVANCED PLACEMENT CHEMISTRY.
Plans are tentative only. In addition to Advanced Placement
review, other topics may include:
Analytical chemistry / environmental chemistry.
Advanced atomic chemistry, coordination chemistry, electrochemistry.
Ceramics and other materials. Advanced testing of materials
(x-ray diffraction, NMR, etc.).

NOTES ON LABORATORY EXERCISES:
Chemistry and Biology will have double periods scheduled once
a week to permit two-period labs in each subject, as needed.

- Simple combination and separation reactions (?)
- Measurement of melting points and boiling points.
- Electroplating of copper (?)
- Generating oxygen; properties of oxygen.

- Calorimetry, specific heat
- Heat of fusion of ice
- Serial dilutions; spectrophotometry if possible
- Testing for selected ions: NH4, S,
