6th Grade Supplies List 2026-2027
Welcome to AMSA! We are looking forward to meeting you at 6th Grade Orientation on August 26th. At orientation, we will spend time learning how to use lockers, so please feel free to bring as many of these supplies as you would like on that day.
- During the first week of school, your teachers will help you set up your binder/folder for each class. Try to buy the highest quality supplies that you can find so they will survive the entire school year.
- Pay attention to sales over the summer. No need to spend more on supplies than you have to! Pencils, colored pencils, notebook paper and dividers can be bought at Dollar Tree!
- Be sure to label all supplies with your first and last name.If you have already bought AMSA outerwear, label that with your first and last name too!

Required Texts for English Classes
The English Department is working to finalize the required book list for the 2026/2027 school year. As soon as we have determined the reading list, you will receive an email. The list will also be available on the school website. We encourage you to purchase these books as soon as you are able. There is a local bookstore in Marlborough called Word on the Street that stocks all required reading books. You can purchase the books from Amazon as well. If your family qualifies for Financial Aid, assistance will be given for book purchases. Please apply for Financial Aid in early August. Documents will be available on the AMSA website.
Student Planners
AMSA will provide each student with a customized student planner for the 2026/27 school year. As a 6th grade team, we have learned that a planner is a valuable organizational tool that teaches students responsibility and accountability. The planners will be handed out in your student’s DS class during the first weeks of school. If your student’s planner becomes damaged to the point where it is unusable, you will be charged $5.00 for a replacement.
Backpacks/String Bags

- Large backpacks may be brought to school and stored in lockers during school hours.
- During the school day, 6th graders will carry a drawstring strap bag (see below). Tote bags and messenger bags are not allowed. Students should visit lockers throughout the school day to switch out supplies.
