Welcome to 7th Grade!
- Each class requires a dedicated and separate place to store notes and handouts.
- Try to buy the sturdiest/highest quality supplies possible to survive switching classes throughout the school year.
- Teachers will explain their exact expectations during the first week of school.
- Purchase extra supplies during summer sales – especially pencils and lead refills.
- Label ALL materials and equipment clearly with the student’s first and last name.
Student Planners
AMSA will provide each student with a customized student planner for the 2026/27 school year. As a 7th grade team, we have learned that a planner is a valuable organizational tool that teaches students responsibility and accountability. The planners will be handed out in your student’s DS class during the first weeks of school. If your planner becomes damaged to the point where it is unusable, you will be charged $5.00 for a replacement.
A Note Regarding Latin
Some students may be taking Introduction to Latin rather than Latin 1a. Please check your students schedule to see what class they are signed up for. This list includes materials for Latin 1a, not Introduction to Latin. The Introduction to Latin supply list can be found on the sixth grade supply list available on the AMSA website.
Nature Journal Purchasing Information (Biology)
Replacement or New Student Nature Journals can be purchased through AMSA for a discounted price of $17.50 (original price, $22.50) on MySchoolBucks. Students will receive their journal at the beginning of the year and it will be used for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Biology. Current Student Nature Journals will be stored at school over the summer.

Individual Class Organization
- Teachers will provide their expectations for organization during the first days of school and on their course info sheet that goes home with students.
- Most classes will require some combination of a two pocket folder and notebook or a binder with loose paper and dividers.
- Some teachers may require a dedicated binder. It may also be possible to use a bigger binder with dividers for several classes (even day/odd day/every day). If teachers are flexible with options, students should pick an organizational system that works for his/her style--some people do better with folders versus binders or vice versa. Think about what will keep you the most organized.
For the First Day of School
- Bring a folder, notebook, and your stocked pencil case
School Bags
- Large backpacks may be brought to school and stored in lockers during the school day.
- Around the building, students may carry a drawstring strap bag (see below). Tote bags and messenger bags are not allowed. Students should visit lockers throughout the school day to switch out supplies
