2023 AMSA DEI Initiatives

Connections Conference 2023 - On March 17, 2023, a group of AMSA staff and students will be visiting Sutton High School for their annual Connections Conference. Throughout the day, students, teachers, supportive staff, and administrators attend various workshop sessions related to social justice within schools, building inclusive spaces within classrooms, creating practical and progressive policies, and more. The goal of the conference is to create meaningful connections with fellow schools and organizations so that we can help strengthen and promote our dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion at AMSA.

The Building Beautification Committee - In a new initiative to be started in January 2023, the Building Beautification Committee (BBC) will assist with transitioning AMSA from a series of office buildings to a school that exemplifies our core values, school mission, enriched community, and achievements. To do this, the committee will evaluate AMSA’s buildings’ current aesthetics, usage of space, and where there is potential to either change or add to already shared spaces. The goal will be to work with the administration and facility teams to create a more welcoming and collaborative environment so we can ensure our entire school community is highlighted for their wonderful achievements.
