Family Engagement

An AMSA education is a true partnership between the school and our student families. In addition to interacting with teachers and staff on a daily basis, here are some of the ways you can engage with AMSA.

Attend Family Forums

Family Forums held most months during the school year, either in person at ForeKicks or via Zoom during remote learning periods. You will hear updates from administrators and have a chance to ask questions on any topic. Here is the most recent forum. Previous forums can be viewed here.

Attend Board of Trustees Meetings

Board of Trustees monthly meetings are open to the public and are typically held on the fourth Thursday of each month, either in person at AMSA or via Zoom. At right is the most recent meeting. Previous Trustee meetings can be viewed here. The meeting calendar is here.

If you would like to make a statement during Public Comment at the beginning of a meeting, please email Trustee Liz Saul at l.saul@amsacs.org to schedule a time. Or, you can email Parent Representative Maura Webster at mwebster@amsacs.org, and she will mention your questions or concerns to the Board.

Some Board committees include AMSA parents. If you would to learn more, please email Sara Snow at s.snow@amsacs.org.

Join AMSA PTO

AMSA PTO plays a vital role in supporting the the school's mission and programs, the faculty and staff, and the students. They hold a variety of fundraisers and other events throughout the year. All parents/guardians of AMSA students and all teachers can be members of the PTO. Learn more at the PTO website.

Serve on the Community Council

The AMSA Community Council is composed of parents, faculty, staff, and students. The council meets four times during the school year to provide feedback to the administration about topics important to our students’ education. Together, they work to help make AMSA the best school in the Commonwealth for our students and families. Please email Sara Snow at s.snow@amsacs.org if you are interested in joining the council.

Volunteer

If you have a special talent or interest, offer to share it in the classroom or at one of our Community Meetings! The annual AMSA Golf Tournament is run by volunteers. Find out how you can help with planning, promotion, finding sponsors, and staffing the event.

Donate

Consider contributing to AMSA's Annual Campaign, which raises funds for a variety of school needs. Don’t forget, your employer might match your donation! Learn more.
