We are proud to announce that eight AMSA seniors have been named “Commended Students” in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program for showing exceptional academic promise.
The students are: Andre Coullard, Griffin Coyle, Willem De Hann, John Devereaux, Samantha Hill, Sugita Mahendarkar, Jack McCabe, and Sydney Michaud.
They earned the designation by demonstrating outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Only about 34,000 seniors nationwide are recognized as Commended Students. Principal Nawrocki presented a letter of commendation to each senior.
Last month, the National Merit Scholarship Program announced 16,000 U.S. high school seniors who advanced to the Semifinalist level, including Vedant Roymoulik and Hannah Veracka from AMSA.
