Registration is underway for the Oct. 30 Lower School Fun Run, which will raise funds for AMSA’s new academic building opening in 2025. Or goal is to raise $18,000 to help outfit the classrooms and labs in the new building with equipment and furniture. This money will be a tangible investment in our students’ daily lives and is a crucial part in our ability to create exceptional opportunities and experiences for our students.
The event starts off with three weeks of friendly competitive fundraising and challenges between the three grades. We are encouraging all students in grades 6-8 to register for the Fun Run and share a personal donation link with family members and others. Every student registered by Oct. 15 will be entered into a drawing for gift cards and other prizes at lunch on Oct. 16.
Any student who collects any donation also will be eligible for prize drawings at lunch on Oct. 22 and Oct. 28. After the event, we will announce prizes for most money raised: top individual (gift card to Apex), top Directed Study class (ice cream event), and top overall grade (pajama day).
The Fun Run will be held at Fore Kicks during the half day of school on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The event will start at 8:45 a.m. with the 6th grade, followed by the 7th grade at 9:30 a.m., and concluding with the 8th grade at 10:20 a.m. Families are welcome to come cheer on their student!
See this video from Dr. Mobley, Mr. Vital, and a student rep from each grade discussing the importance of this year’s fundraiser.
Annual fundraising at AMSA supports a variety of programs including academics; athletics; the arts; facility and technology upgrades; financial aid for uniforms, transportation, lunch, and activity fees; and faculty initiatives. The focus of this year’s Fun Run is to help outfit the classrooms and labs in the new building with equipment and furniture.
