The AMSA Girls' Track & Field Team was crowned champions of the Colonial Athletic League on Monday! Leading the way was Ava Georger, who won the 2 mile and placed 5th in the mile. Katelyn Massey also had a great day, placing 2nd in both the one-mile and the 800-meter. Some of the other great performances include Jada Guo placing 2nd in the long jump, 4th in the triple jump, 3rd in the 100-meter, and 6th in the 200-meter. Jada was the only girl to place in four events. Marianna Tsianatelis placed 2nd in the 100-meter hurdles and 3rd in the 400-meter hurdles. Miliana Milatovic also did well in the 400 hurdles placing in 4th place. Rosie Martnez placed 2nd in the 2-mile. Jalila Menkari placed 5th in the 400-meter. Isabella Scavone placed 4th in the shot put and Angelina DaSilva placed 6th in the javelin.
In the relays, our 4x100-meter relay of Angelina DaSilva, Michelle Ihechukwu, Liberty Daniel-Green, and Giustina Salemi placed 6th, and the 4x400-meter relay made up of Jalila Menkari, Miliana Milatovic, Caroline Haher, and Shivani Ross placed 4th.
On the boy's side, Zach Barton continued his dominance in the hurdles, winning the 110-meter high hurdles and the 400-meter intermediate hurdles for the second year in a row. Josh Thomas won the javelin and placed 5th in the 100 meters. Ryan Woodsmall placed 6th in the 200 meters. William Newhook placed 5th in the 400 meters. Gabe Casanas placed 4th in the 2 mile. Dylan Zickus placed 5th in the shot put. Filipe Costa placed 4th in the javelin. Marcos Arellano placed 2nd in the Long Jump. Finally, our 4x100-meter relay of Josh Thomas, Marco Arellano, Ryan Woodsmall, and Dylan Boge placed 3rd, and the 4x400-meter relay of Gabe Casanas, William Newhook, Jagger Sanford, and Nolan Maxwell finished in 2nd place.
