AMSA’s High School Math Team is starting to resemble the Patriots, winning its third state championship in the last four years!
On Monday, the team competed in state math league championships and placed a clear first in the small schools division.
“Being state champions again feels great! The competition was tough, but the team worked well together and we were able to win by a comfortable margin,” said team member John Houley. “We are really excited to try and reclaim our title as New England champions.”
The other team members who competed at the championships were: Colin Candiloro, Sam David, Shane Ferrante, Sruthi Kurada, and Matt Young. AMSA was led by top individual scores from Matt (who was recognized for a perfect score), Sam, and Shane.
Based on its placement, AMSA qualified for the New England championships that will be held on April 26.
“I’m really proud of the team, and I’m thrilled to go for first in NEAML [New England] to redeem ourselves for falling just short last year,” said Shane.
Congratulations to the entire High School team, its coaches, and AMSA’s math teachers who prepare our mathletes so well!
