Latin Students Find Their Inner Romans

Latin Students Find Their Inner Romans

7th grade Latin students have been engaged in a year-long project called "Quis ego sum" (Who am I). They’ve chosen a Latin name, designed a villa in Pompeii for themselves, and chosen an occupation as if they were a Roman. Here are examples of the latest component of their project – designing a pet. Students researched the genus, phylum, and species of an animal which could have been a pet to an ancient Roman. Then they illustrated the animal and added a personal name like, "Fortunata" (Lucky).
