Middle School Math Competition Honors Mathematician Gauss
This week, in honor of the birthdate of renowned mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, Upper School students held the 4th Annual Middle School Math Competition for 6th and 7th graders. The top 10 scoring students will be announced next week and will receive certificates and prizes. Great job Upper Schoolers organizing, proctoring, and scoring the competition!
Gauss was one of the greatest mathematicians who ever lived. Born in the late 18th century, he made significant contributions to many fields that AMSA students encounter including: Number Theory, Algebra, Statistics, and Geometry.
