Students Take on Identities of Historical Figures

Students in Ms. Murphy's AP U.S. History classes took on the identities of a Progressive-era figures and mixed and mingled with their contemporaries at a Valentine's Day-themed "dinner party."  To prepare for the party, students had to research their figure and analyze their impact on the era as a whole. Historical figures represented included presidents, muckrakers, capitalists, reformers, and members of the working class. With so many perspectives on the economic and social conditions at the turn of the twentieth century, the personalities had the opportunity to collaborate with their colleagues and confront their enemies.
