Model UN

The AMSA chapter of Model United Nations is part of a global student organization that introduces students to international affairs. Students attend twice monthly meetings to prepare them for participation with conferences throughout New England. These conferences simulate the work of the United Nations.

Past conferences have tackled such modern day topics as refugee relief, deforestation, clean water access, and nuclear weapons, as well as historical events like the French Revolution and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Through their involvement in Model UN, students hone their skills related to research, debate, discussion, oration, and collaboration. Over the years, AMSA's Model UN club has been recognized at conferences for both individual student accomplishment and the efforts of our entire delegation. Students do not need to have any prior exposure to global affairs to join; they will learn along the way.
